DO IT BEST NAMES MAKITA “VENDOR OF THE YEAR” FOR 2011

Annual award recognizes a single vendor for outstanding product, service, and sales

NOVEMBER 10, 2011 LA MIRADA, CA - Makita U.S.A., Inc., manufacturer of high quality industrial power tools and accessories, has been named Vendor of the Year by Do it Best.  The award was presented to Makita Industrial Power Tools at Do It Best’s recent Fall Market Event.

Bruce Roberts, Makita Manager of National Accounts (center), accepts Do It Best’s Vendor of the Year Award for 2011.

Each year Do It Best, the home improvement retailer with stores across the US, recognizes a single vendor based on outstanding performance in four key areas: product quality, service level, sales growth, and sales/customer service.  Do It Best presented Makita with the Award for 2011.

"Makita provides Do it Best with products that exceed tough demands by Do it Best customers, and their product ships on schedule to help Do it Best maintain a corporate 97% Service Level.  All of this helps drive a strong retail sales increase at Do it Best Member stores," said Jeff Fraizer, merchandise manager, power tools, Do It Best.  "Makita also offers a top notch service and sales team keeping Do it Best up to date on new products, trends, and merchandising ideas.  All of these factors combine to help Do it Best members grow."

"Makita is proud to be recognized by our exclusive category partner, Do It Best, for our marketing efforts," said Mike Tilley, Makita vice president of national accounts.  "We’re committed to bringing creative thinking and leveraging opportunities to drive Do It Best’s sales success."
