New PC5001C features auxiliary base and roller for consistent planing depth, stability

JUNE 18, 2010 – La Mirada, CA – Makita, a worldwide manufacturer of technologically advanced power tools that are more compact with less weight yet deliver industrial strength power and results, is proud to announce the release of its new 5” Concrete Planer, model PC5001C. This new concrete planer combines power with ease-of-use features, and features a new adjustable front roller and auxiliary base engineered for consistent planing depth and added stability.

“Makita knows concrete, and the PC5001C is the latest in a growing line of best-in-class solutions for the concrete pro,” said Wayne Hart, communications manager, Makita U.S.A. “Makita’s new five-inch concrete planer is engineered for smoothing concrete surfaces and leveling concrete seams, so it’s ideal for masons, concrete finishers, city maintenance crews, and more.”
10 AMP Motor with Soft Start Technology
The PC5001C has a Makita-built 10 AMP motor with soft start technology for smooth start-ups. The electronic speed control is engineered to maintain constant speed under load, and the electronic current limiter protects the motor from overloading. The dust bag is easily installed and removed, with a dust collecting vacuum port for cleaner operation. The PC5001C also includes removable dust shroud cap that allows the tool to plane in corners and against walls.  The PC5001C features a front roller that adjusts to the planning dept, and an auxiliary base engineered for consistent planning depth and added stability.

Ease-of-Use Features
The PC5001C weighs 11.2 lbs. and is only 18-13/16” long with an ergonomic soft grip with large two-finger trigger switch with lock-on function for greater comfort, as well as a top handle for improved handling. The L.E.D. power light serves as a pilot light as well as an indicator of the anti-restart function.

Smooth Operation
The PC5001C is engineered to smooth concrete surfaces, level concrete seams, remove epoxy from concrete, and more. It’s ideal for masons, remodelers, city maintenance crews, concrete finishers, and general contractors seeking a best-in-class industrial quality concrete planer. The PC5001C is just another example of Makita’s commitment to innovative technology and best in class engineering.
