MAKITA'S MITER SAW NAMED BEST BY FINE HOMEBUILDING
Fine Homebuilding Magazine named Makita’s 12-inch Sliding Compound Miter Saw (model LS1214FL) as their top pick in the May 2008 issue.
The magazine reviewed new 12-inch sliding compound miter saw models from Bosch, Craftsman, DeWalt, Hitachi, and Ridgid, as well as Makita. Each model was evaluated based on its features, weight, power, ergonomics, and portability.
In the end, Makita\'s LS1214FL was named best overall. They particularly liked the adjustable laser, the "exceptionally smooth" slide system, the blade ("Best Stock Blade"), and the "ideal" combination of large table and small footprint. But it was their opening comment that said it all: "The Makita is beautifully engineered in every way."
